We explore ways of using yoga to help the children develop inner awareness. Cultivating mindful awareness in our yoga practice can help develop interoception. The more sensitive we become, the easier it is for us to understand the link between body sensations and skillful responses to those sensations. Through breath, movement and touch we can introduce simple ways to 'feel'. The first port of call is to balance the autonomic nervous system so that the child is in the most receptive space to be able to develop inner awareness.
